Stay on Country: An Immersive Overnight Mbabaram Experience

Welcome & Tent Allocation - Arrive at the Mbabaram Culture Park for a warm welcome and introduction before checking into your tent accommodation.

Afternoon Tea & Bushwalking - After settling into your tent, sit amongst the gum trees to enjoy an afternoon tea before heading off on a short walk in the bush to learn about the use of local flora as a source of food and medicine, as well as sturdy timber for constructing tools and weapons.

Cultural Presentation - After our bushwalk we have a closer look at tools and weapons used in Mbabaram culture and then try your hand at spear throwing using a woomera (traditional spear thrower).

Explore or Unwind Before Dinner - Spend the late afternoon exploring the area, enjoy a hot shower, or help your guide prepare dinner on the campfire. As the sun begins to set, gather in your camp chairs around fire for some flavorsome food, trivia, and good conversations.

Breakfast & Birdwatching - Arise early the next morning to the sounds of the kookaburras and the scent of breakfast sizzling on the grill. Enjoy a hot coffee and BBQ breakfast before some nearby bird watching. The campsite often attracts Rosellas, Kookaburras, Parrots, and Lorikeets. If you are an avid bird watcher you may spot some different species. We also have plenty of binoculars for you to borrow.

It is then time to pack up and check out of your tent as you prepare to depart, taking with you cherished memories, a deep understanding of rainforest and bushland cultures, and a sense of connection to the land.
